There are a lot of options out there so we decided to break them down based on price, delivery option, produce selection, organics, where its sourced from, and how far it travels.  Below you'll find information about our CSA for comparison to 4 of the more popular home delivery options that service Northwest Indiana.  There are several price options for the providers below so we chose the sizes that is most comparable to each other and multiplied it by 7 weeks since thats the length of one of our CSA seasons.

Rainfield Farm

  • No home delivery - pickup only (2 locations - your farmer is at both locations) 

  • You select what produce you receive w/option to purchase more

  • ALL produce grown at our farm in New Carlisle, IN

  • Produce is harvested within 24hrs and travels 10ft to less than 25 miles

  • Sourced: USA and Mexico

  • Food travels from farm to distributor (or directly) to one of four repackaging centers then sent to your home (distance unknown 1500+ miles)

  • Free Shipping - home delivery

  • Preselected produce and fruit 

  • Organic

  • Sourced: USA and possibly Mexico (not disclosed)

  • Food travels from farms to distributor (or directly) to Kansas (repackaged) then sent to your home (distance unknown)
